March 5th 2024 Meeting Highlights

The March 5th meeting proved to be highly productive. We committed to funding many things as well as organizing some new committees to focus on events, membership, and special projects.

Here is a summary of all the things we committed to fund:

  • $25 dollars to be a member of the Friends of Wisconsin State Parks. This group helps share opportunities for additional funding and helps us network with other friends groups

  • $375 dollars annually to fund insurance of a mobility device gifted to the friends group

  • $500 in budget to the annual kite festival. Funds will go towards promoting the event, providing food/drinks for volunteers, and any other expenditures that may arise.

  • $750 for the 65th anniversary of the Mead. Funds will go towards promoting the event, providing food/drinks for volunteers, and any other expenditures that may arise.

  • $500 For to purchase a tablet. The Mead is in possession of an underwater drone, but needed a tablet to operate it. This tablet will also come in handy for future member recruitment and accepting card payments for souvenirs.

  • $600 for the Mead Science Symposium. $500 will be used to help students afford posters for presenting. The other $100 will be used for snacks and beverages.

  • $1500 for scholarships. $500 will be used for education scholarship. $1000 will be for the Ducks Unlimited scholarship and is matched be DU.

As always, thank you for being a member. Without you support we wouldn’t be able to fund all these awesome things.
